Schedule – this position is scheduled for 35 hours per week, 43 weeks for the 2025/2026 school year with a planned reduction in force at the end of the school year (June, 2026). Scheduled hours and weeks are based on need and subject to change, including reduction in force.
Rate - starting at $18 based on education and experience

We are currently seeking a Head Start Lead Preschool Teacher who is enthusiastic, nurturing, and committed to supporting the development of young children. The ideal candidate brings a solid background in early childhood education, a deep understanding of child development, and experience creating engaging and supportive classroom environments.

What will you do? Under the supervision of the Education Supervisor, this position assists classroom teachers with the day-to-day operations of the preschool classroom. May be deployed to other sites to support.
- Provide appropriate supervision of children to ensure a healthy, safe and clean learning environment
- Ability to respond to direction from appropriate supervisory staff
- Ability to implement activities in the classroom
- Implement positive guidance strategies consistent with Pathways Behavior Management Plan and practices in conjunction with any outlined in a child’s IEP or Early Support Behavior Plan
What do you need?
Minimum: High School Diploma, in conjunction with a professional career development plan to obtain EEC Teacher Certification or CDA Certification within 2 years.
Preferred: CDA, Associates Degree in ECE or equivalent
Bilingual preferred in languages that represent our student and family population (Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian-Creole)
Other Requirements:
- Successfully complete an employment physical and comply with proof of immunity per prehire mandates
- Comply with all state and federal background checks
- Possess valid MA driver’s license and proof of auto insurance and acceptable driving record and/or have access to reliable transportation
