Do you have lived experience navigating services for you and your family?  Are you familiar with the services that organizations in our area provide families facing economic inequality?  If you are looking for a way to give back to your community and utilize the knowledge you have gained helping your own family we would love to talk to you.  JRI is hiring a Family Partner for our Family Resource Center in Salem.  In collaboration with Pathways for Children the ideal candidate has experience navigating services and is comfortable working with diverse populations.  We value collaboration and appreciate open dialogue in with our corporate office and embrace the core values of- respect, trust, collaboration, and opportunity. Monday- Friday with scheduled rotating weekend and evening hours 40 hours per week 52 weeks per year in our Salem Family Resource Center located downtown.  

All qualified applicants will be contacted by a member of the JRI Human Resources team and the chosen candidate will be an employee of JRI.  

Bilingual a plus!! JRI will offer a $1000 bilingual annual bonus to any candidate who speaks, reads and writes in a different language other than English.

WHAT WILL YOU DO AS A FAMILY PARTNER?

  • Work closely with a Clinician and other FRC staff onsite for the purpose of providing standardized screening, assessment, service planning and referral services for families seeking services
  • facilitate regular scheduled family and youth group (alongside a Clinician)
  • use your creative skills to create meaningful family groups that speak to the needs of the population served
  • Providing information, support and advocacy helping the families navigate through the system
  • Help families understand their options and make informed decisions 
  • Promote partnerships between parents and other professionals
  • Assist families to identify and build on their personal strengths and community supports so the family is better able to advocate for themselves

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE A FAMILY PARTNER?

  • Applicants must have a minimum of an Associate Degree in a human services field and 1 year of experience working with the target population; or a high school diploma/GED and 2 years of experience working with the target population.
  • Applicants should have lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a youth with emotional, behavioral or learning challenges and experience accessing systems for support for your child’s needs.
  • Available during regular business hours of the Family Resource Center. Able to work alone in an unsupervised environment. Be available to work scheduled evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as necessary.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
