Location – Gloucester, MA and Beverly/Salem, MA

Schedule – 

Gloucester:  this position is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, 43 weeks for the 2025/2026 school year. Scheduled hours and weeks are based on need and subject to change.

Beverly/Salem:  this position is assigned to cover at both sites, scheduled for 30 hours per week from September, 2025 to June, 2026.   Scheduled hours and weeks are based on need and subject to change.

Rate: starting at $19.50 based on education and experience

We are currently seeking a Head Start Preschool Teacher Floater who is enthusiastic, nurturing, and committed to supporting the development of young children. The ideal candidate brings a experience in childhood education and a willingness to provided engaging and supportive classroom environments.

What will you do?

  • Ability to respond with flexibility to changing work assignments
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality
  • Provide appropriate supervision of children to ensure a healthy, safe and clean learning environment
  • Ability to respond to direction from appropriate supervisory staff
  • Ability to implement activities in the classroom
  • Implement positive guidance strategies consistent with Head Start Behavior Management Plan and practices in conjunction with any outlined in a child’s IEP or Head Start Early Support Behavior Plan
  • Attend required meetings and participate in training opportunities to enhance personal and professional growth
  • Performs other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other management staff
  • Acts as a mandated reporter

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE A HEAD START TEACHER FLOATER?

Minimum: High School Diploma, with a professional career development plan to obtain EEC Teacher Certification or CDA Certification within 2 years.

Preferred: CDA, Associates Degree in ECE or equivalent
