About the Role:

We are looking to hire a Food Services Assistant that will support our Gloucester location.  The Food Services Assistant serves as a member of a team in a highly scheduled kitchen operation.  Prepares and organizes meals for children ages 0 – 12 years in a school setting per USDA and CACFP guidelines.  Ensures a safe and clean kitchen area per food establishment laws and guidelines.

Rate: 20.75-21.20 per hour 

About the Role: 

  • Accepts food orders and ensures meals meet the delivery standards set forth by Pathways. Stores and serves food in accordance with ServSafe and other health and safety requirements 
  • Ensures food safety practices are being followed in all areas 
  • Ensures meal substitutions are accurately labeled and ready to be served 
  • Monitors provision of special diets for children, with documented food allergies or other special nutritional diets 
  • Assist with daily cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing counters and all surfaces and utensils 
  • Rotates inventory to ensure food remains fresh and ready to serve 
  • Provide back-up coverage for team members during planned vacations and unexpected leave or sick days. 

WHAT DO YOU NEED? 

  • Should have ServSafe certification upon hire or must obtain certification within 30 days of hire.  
  •  Have completed and passed Allergen Awareness or completed and passed Allergen Awareness        testing within 30 days of hire. 
  • Experience in Food Service industry highly preferred. 
  • Knowledge of nutrition standards and allergy risks. 
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication. 
  • Proficient Basic computer skills are required, including use of email and internet 
  • Must have a valid MA drivers license and reliable access to a vehicle 
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the role 
  • Must comply with all state and federal requirements 
  • Must complete and satisfy background check protocols 
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical and proof of vaccinations 
  • Maintain annual training requirements
